I am very security oriented and I enjoy this app. I do agree that no being able to backup more than 20MB is frustrating, but the privacy and security is worth the wait for that to be fixed. I also enjoy that this app can be separately locked unlike just about all of the other messengers out there. And I like that the accounts are NOT going to get purged if they are over a year old and have no activity.

I love this app and love the focus on security. Its recently become one of my favorite apps and I want to convince more people to use it.

This is an updated review. Threema has all the essential IM features with the primary emphasis on security and privacy. Even though iMessage is private and secure as well, the fact that this company is based in Switzerland gives me the extra peace of mind. I also love the way this app allows you to create a new user ID and how to add contacts through QR code scanning. I hope this app continues to put security and privacy at the forefront of everything. One slight annoyance with this app is every time I exit the app to homscreen (not quitting app) and re-enter the app Im always placed at the "Messages" screen and not the conversation I was in. I know it adds an extra tap on the screen to go in the conversation I was last in but I dont like being put at the main screen either, I want to be exactly where I left off. Happening on my main iPhone 6 on latest iOS and my test device iPhone 4S running iOS 7.1.2. Keep up the good work team!

When someone shares their location, the map is unstable. It is initially centered on the other partys location (green dot) as this is the intended purpose, but soon after it quickly moves to *our* location (blue dot), and we can no longer see the other persons location. This annoying bug has already been in previous versions for as long as I can remember.

Fast and safe! Better than WhatsApp!

After upgrading to 2.4.0, Threema doesnt work anymore. All my other apps work fine, so its not my phones fault. It seems to be bad coding and its a shame this happens to an app Ive been using for less than a year.

So far so good! Will love to have yahoo! Emoticons instead on worthless emoji... Hope the app will stay stable ! Very nice so far! Plz increase video length (1minutes is nothing!)

Needs iPad version……Also needs to be able to reverse the camera in iPad.

Hands down best chat app, the fact that they are putting security first is commendable. Interface is smooth and easy on the eyes. The icon has even grown on me, although Id be interested in seeing its appearance change. Thank you for putting your time and efforts into such a great app.
