WhatsAppが、ユーザーを裏切って、電話番号でユーザー同士の関係をつながりを手に入れようとする、いわゆるメタデータを手に入れようとするという、個人情報の保護なんて眼中になくて、飯の種にしようとしてきたので、怖くなりました。やはりフェイスブックを信じた僕が馬鹿でした。Threemaは、電話番号がなくても、メールアドレスがなくても、連絡先を教えなくてもちゃんと使えるところが良心的ですね。そういうことに今さら気がつきました。

メッセージの送受信のレスポンスは、whatsappやLINEなどと同等以上。 上記アプリにセキュリティ面の不安を持っているなら、このアプリはオススメだと思います。 既読/未読や送受信日時を表示してくれる機能があるので、便利です。 日本国内でもユーザーが増えてくれると嬉しいです。

2048bitのRSAに匹敵すると言われる256bitのECCと言う暗号方式で、End-to-Endで暗号化してるとの事。 ソース公開してる訳ではないのでベンダーの言い分だけですが、大手でなくスイスのマイナーな会社でつくりも丁寧で信頼出来そうです。 日本でも広まるとよいですね

LINEが安全なのかと不安だったので、他のアプリを探していたところ、海外の雑誌で発見！かなりセキュリティがしっかりしているとのことだったので、こちらを購入しました。LINEは大変便利だけど、無料であれだけのコトが出来るしどんな問題を抱えているのかわかりません。個人的に不安だったので、今はこちらを使用しています。

L⚪️NEをあまり信用できない中（あくまでも個人的意見）、セキュリティの強化、アドレス帳のアップロード時もデータはハッシュ値化する（と、謳っている）このアプリを見つけ、試しに使ってみた。感想としては非常に使いやすい！ ・最初の登録作業に少し戸惑うが、実際の使い勝手としては、シンプルなインターフェースでわかりやすい、読みやすい ・フォントサイズの比較的きめ細かな設定 ・アプリを開く際のTouch ID、パスワード入力への対応 ・通知のプレビューも送り元の名前だけにもできる（Threemaの設定だけで、ということではないが） ・end to endでの暗号化に関しては自分で検証できるほどの技術が無いので、謳い文句を鵜呑みにするとして、、 ・テキスト、絵文字の代わりに音声メモも送信可能（最近はどこも利用可能だと思うが） ・写真、動画も送信できる。 ・未読、既読を相手に知らせるかどうか好きに設定可能 ・本当にプライベートなやり取りのツールとしての利用には十分 ・物、サービスの売上向上を目的とした企業が入って来ていないので、気分は良い（宣伝が無い） ・設定画面等はすべて英語ですが 国内でも、ユーザーが増えればいいのだが、、

Best app for real privacy. Anything that is free money wise, is charging you in ways you cant imagine👀

Very well designed. I personally love this app.

I love how I can record messages with my airpods and put my phone in my pocket while continuing to record. But it does happen from time to time thst rhe recording stops suddenly. Or it doesn’t remember the recording and gives an error message and then it disappears. This is so frustrating, especially when you do longer messages. Please finally fix this!

Liked the app. Since I’m coming from FaceTime and WhatsApp, missing the picture-in-picture mode, screen sharing option and the ability to choose default notification sounds for calls and messages. Hope they get added soon. So far, good work guys.

Please update to add an option/toggle that the user can choose to enable to support Apple CarPlay. Please update to support Apple Watch.

I’ve had the new IPhone 16 pro max for weeks now, and I have never been able to send a video on it. Worked fine on my IPhone 13. Now whenever I try to send a video whether I take the video in Threema, or on my phones camera app, I get an error saying “could not load the video, please restart the app and try again”. I have closed it and reopened, restarted my phone, even deleted Threema and re-installed it.

For the sake of justice which leads to peace, Threema must maintain it integrity and protect speech for all.

I never had an issue sharing pics and video clips with this app, but after updating to iOS 18 and getting an iPhone 16 pro, I can only send pictures. No matter how short the video clip is, I get an error message asking me to restart the app. I hope the developer fixes this.

Can’t respond to individual messages with emoji reactions. Doesn’t support a .gif keyboard. Can’t pin individual messages that are important to the top in group messages.

Latest update ruined the app. Texts aren’t getting through, or they’re really delayed.

Been using this for years and it’s great! But the 6.3 update bricked the app. Running latest 18.1 OS No longer works.

There should be an option for auto deletions within days not week or month!!!

Over the last couple of years, I’ve watched Threema become a really mature, security-focused messaging app. A lot of the features previously missing (ability to edit messages, disappearing messages) have been added in and work great. Lots of reviews from years past talking about various bugs and glitches seem to be resolved. This is now the “go to security app” for myself, and my company. Keep up the good work!!

Nice to have end to end privacy

Can’t beat the quality and reliability and security of this app especially in todays world

The app itself is great. I love it and haven’t had any issues. , but I’m wondering if down the line more privacy features would be added. For instance, a function to not allow screenshots or maybe possibly disappearing text set by the user? It would be nice to have these features implemented.

iPad - DELETE button is not working after “long hold” on the message & the options pop up. It works on iPhone. You have to “Select” & click the left circle to delete.

Haven’t seen much good things added in terms of features or bugfixes in a looooong time. - sending media from Photos app requires you to wait for the media to be encoded before you can add captions. You need to keep the send dialogue open until everything is sent, otherwise you loose your captions and you have to share from pictures again - when sending multiple images/videos and one fails (eg network timeout), all media “after” that are lost and you have to share again from Photos app. - randomly people can’t receive/send messages for non-obvious reasons. No error messages whatsoever. We found out by accident when speaking IRL. Trusting the other’s Threema IDs resolved it - extremely limited set of reaction emojis. Why can’t I use the full emoji pallet to express my emotions - can’t port data backups from android to iOS??? - when you are offline for some time and get online again you are spammed by notifications, instead of Threema batching them in a single notification/one per chat Threema for Desktop is the only good addition that I’ve seen in 5+ years. I don’t see a reason to pay for Threema when there are better alternatives (Signal being the obvious one)

Is it possible to have the live location shared for infinite time? It is an option interesting. I would love to see it on an update. Thanks

All around and amazing app well put together love the security and privacy and you guys really did your work on this one. I recommend it to all my friends, my family and as many people as I can possible it’s that good of an app. Also I’m working on a app, would you guys be willing to donate any amount helps. After completion everyone that helped me out, will definitely be rewarded generously.

I like this secure app. It has many features and the customer service dept. is very quick to respond and help. I recommend this for anyone needed in a truly secure messaging, texting, etc. app.

I recently upgraded phone, and am not able to restore account on new phone, what can I do?

This app still need more option in their messaging system. Disappearing time need to be added in for safety reason. You don’t want someone phone to fall in someone else hands and have all old message read. Very scary situation for user. Also id need to be hidden better. Everyone shouldn’t be able to see your personal id in group. If they fix these problem this app would of been great

Its been over two months now that Threema has stopped working with the notifications! I have turned off/on my phone multiple times, and the app is up to date on the app store😡. This is very annoying given that i paid money for this app

Used this app for years, recommended to numerous friends, family. It was a way for me to keep my family (texts/photos) separate from my work. I got a new phone, I had my backup turned on, erased my old phone, and poof. When to log in on my new phone and I couldn’t…..my email and phone # didn’t exist. Why? Because you must create a backup and ID with them, and then download from them after. I lost years and years of so much information that I really made sure to keep. So disappointed.

Due to the nature of the beast there are sometimes delays in messages getting through. Again, goes with the territory of encryption and servers being used. Their customer service is wonderful and very prompt. Great product that, just like everything else, can use some tweaks here and there.

After updating, the app is no longer functioning for phone calls in China. I'm uncertain whether this is due to government restrictions or if the app has encountered bugs.

It’s good in general but lately many bugs running around and after the latest IOS update no sound for incoming messages. Plz fix it and remove the bugs , I’m just waiting for an update for threema !

The call function is still very buggy. To date, I have been unable to complete more than a 15-30 second call without the app disconnecting. It also takes up to 2 minutes at spook up to ‘initialize’. If the security is a robust ad claimed, perhaps the calling and video technology will catch up? As a paid app, albeit no,I al, the ‘freebies’ are still much better. Help!

I wish the desktop app didn’t require the iPhone to be open and in the Threema app just to use it. Major strain on my battery. Signal and Session don’t require that. Mac Desktop app also needs dark mode like yesterday. Update 2023/09/06: Thanks for the info about the beta. That addresses my issues, and I’ve updated my rating to 5 stars.

If the user experience is any indication of what’s going on behind the scenes, then it’s hard to trust this app. Calls routinely drop with no explanation, the app randomly scrolls to much earlier dates while the scroll to latest button doesn’t function. Generally, you don’t get the feeling you’re using something solidly built. It feels more like a prototype, which for me, casts doubt on the privacy features themselves. I wish they’d focus on the UX a bit more and make it friendlier and more polished.

I love great security! I love Threema’s commitment to a very secure experience! My only bummer is that here in the USA, I rarely run in to anyone that has heard of Threema and even fewer who use it. Most everyone I know of uses Apple Messages and are so committed to that service.

It serves it’s purpose, but is still flawed. Some messages do not go through timely (especially if media is involved). Calling rarely works. The few times that it does - reception is patchy at best. As a plain, secure messaging platform with no frills- it’s adequate.

Multi Device Support would increase usability. Longer usernames would decrease the risk of collision (birthday problem) and will become more important as the number of Threema users increases.

Please include a message deletion system for both parties And there is no message adjustment system in the Threema application. . All apps have these features. Sometimes I write a message and I want to delete it or I want to modify the message. But these characteristics do not exist.

Long-term customer here. Threema used to be a secure option to message and start phone calls across the Atlantic. But I can’t recommend the expenditure anymore: Many years ago, I’ve asked family and friends to pay the small fee to stay in contact. The messaging worked reliably and phone calls were high-quality (much better than Skype). However, we’re in 2023 and phone calls frequently fail to connect through official servers, but show up as missed call with the recipients. With Facetime being a valid airbag alternative now (encryption is nice, but it technology needs to function first), Threema doesn’t have a place on my phone anymore. Don’t call me, and I won’t be able to call you. Let’s stay friends.
